One of my all-time favorite treats used to be a chai from Borders. It was an obsession, really. When Borders cafes switched to Seattle's Best coffee brand years ago, they discontinued their chai. My teacher friends and I bought up their remaining supply in bulk and savored it. Once it was gone, we were pretty bummed.

Fast forward three years- I just happened to discover on Amazon a chai mix that looked promising. One of the reviews stated that it was exactly the same mix that Borders used to use. I was skeptical, but ordered a can of the mix, just to see for myself and IT IS THE SAME! Woo hoo!!

(I am aware that this is something a little random to post about, but man, does it make me happy! I have had a mug of chai tea every afternoon since it arrived in the mail last Saturday! This obsession is not good for my waistline or pocketbook, but I don't care.)

Katie and I spent the morning while Drew was at school buying treats and goodies for Easter baskets and eggs for Sunday. She was such a good little helper and very pleasant to shop with, which is not always the case when shopping with her these days.

While leaving one of the stores, Katie froze in her tracks in the parking lot. I was confused for a moment until I realized that she had just noticed her shadow. She was mesmerized for a moment and kept moving her arm up and down to watch her shadow move. She hopped a couple of times and giggled when her shadow hopped too. It was such a joyful moment to witness. Sometimes being a parent is pretty great.

I have stalled long enough. Katie is napping, Drew is resting on the couch with some books, and I have LOTS of laundry and cleaning waiting for me.
