{Valentine's Day 2013}

Unlike on television where couples always go out on elaborate dates for Valentine's Day, real life sometimes just looks like walking hand in hand with your husband to your preschooler's classroom to be room parents together.

On TV there are always big boxes of chocolate and bouquets of long-stemmed red roses on February 14, but in real life, homemade jewelry from your children is just as sweet.

My Valentine's Day did not include breakfast in bed like I always see in movies, but it did start with heart-shaped pink pancakes with four giggly kids.

And though in movies the Valentine's couple always gets dressed up for a fancy dinner out,  sometimes the reality is going out to Dairy Queen for a family-friendly date of cheeseburgers and ice cream.

Not that I would have minded a fancy dinner out with my husband or a bouquet of flowers, but reality was pretty great too.  Hope your Valentine's Day was full of as much love as mine was!

Papa would trade any romantic dinner, walk or getaway for a v day with his 3 children as kids at the age yours are now. i'm quite sure Nini would agree. she knows that i love her and am gratefull for the life we share.
the day that you described proves that true life is far better than any movie.
