{snow day}
A four day weekend last weekend due to President's Day and Professional Development activities for the teachers, and now a four day weekend this weekend because of the weather. Woo hoo! We could get used to this schedule!
Yesterday's snow day was wonderful. The kids stayed in their pajamas all day long and just played. We stopped playing only long enough to bake cinnamon rolls, read a few chapters in our current read aloud, take an hour long popsicle bath for the younger two, and watch some cartoons. The kids also each got a turn to play for 45 minutes on my laptop. Life is tough sometimes.
My funny moment of the day was the kids' reaction to my shoveling the driveway. I left them inside and asked Gracie and Luke to keep an eye on Katie and Drew for me. I thought I wouldn't be very long, but I underestimated the length of the new driveway and the weight of the snow. I ended up being out there a whole lot longer than I thought I would be. I knew they were fine, though, because no matter where I was in the driveway, I could see eight little eyes watching me. They would move from one window to the next watching me. It could not have been that interesting! I'm thinking they were hoping I would change my mind and let them come outside too!
Today's plans are just as hard as yesterday. There are three or four crafts I've been excited to do with the kids, we have some overly ripe bananas ready to turn into banana bread, and the kids will get their wish to go outside and build a snowman- the snow seems perfect for it and they have never made a snowman before. They can't wait! Pictures to come! :)
