{date night}
Ben and I treated ourselves to a date last night to celebrate twenty years since our first date. We headed to dinner at my current favorite restaurant, The Block, in Old Webster where we enjoyed unbelievably delicious food. My go-to meal there is their pork and dumplings and I am pretty sure it is one of my favorite meals ever. They also have a drink there that I am a little addicted to- some vanilla vodka drink with raspberry and pineapple juice. Delicious.
This is the point in the post where I share food pictures. Not because they look particularly appetizing (because phones do not take very good close ups in bad lighting), but because posts seem to be more interesting with photographs. :)
After dinner we headed to a couple of different bars in the area. The first was one that Ben had heard about somewhere as being the "best dive bar in St. Louis." We were a little under impressed and left after one drink. Next we headed to a new microbrewery that opened in the area in the last year, The Urban Chestnut. Ben had been there a couple of times before with friends, but I had not seen it yet. We enjoyed a couple of beers there and had fun talking and taking in the atmosphere.
All in all, a really successful date night with my hubby. It is always nice to get the chance to connect and talk without the usual constant interruption. I certainly chose well twenty years ago in picking someone makes me laugh, listens to my sometimes-neurotic thoughts, and treats me -always- with kindness.
Love this guy.
