{a great weekend in Illinois}

We are back at home and unwinding after a very fun and full three day weekend in Illinois. A camping trip, a cookout with family and friends, the Third Sunday Market, and a Father's Day cookout made for a wonderful getaway!

We started the weekend with an overnight camping trip to Shelbyville. (Actually, Gracie and Luke started their fun weekend even earlier when Patti drove to STL to pick them up on Thursday morning. She took them to Decatur for the afternoon and then to Bloomington that evening to hang out with the Koski family and to see the play that Will is starring in this summer.)  After some packing and grocery shopping at home on Friday morning, Ben, the littles, and I hit the road for Decatur to pick up Paul's camper for our camping trip. It was a relaxed day and even with a stop for Monical's Pizza and some backyard playtime at Nini and Papa's, we were still setting up our camper by late afternoon. We enjoyed a bit of time camping just the six of us before being joined by some friends for the evening. Erin and Chad and their girls came for the evening and so did our friends Kim and Joel and their kids. It was a great time for all.

After some time at the campground on Saturday morning, we drove back to Decatur to return the camper and take some much-needed showers! Erin and Chad invited us and another family over for the evening to cookout and go to see fireworks. The adults had fun talking, playing bags, and letting Ben play bartender. The kids ran around like crazy people and had a great time of their own.

After spending the night at Erin and Chad's house, Gracie and I went with my mom to the Third Sunday Market bright and early on Sunday morning. I love, love, love shopping for treasures at this huge outdoor flea market and had a wonderful time.

Bridget and Will hosted us all over on Sunday afternoon for a Father's Day cookout and time in the pool. It was a perfect way to spend time with family on a day centered around the wonderful fathers in the group.  We hung out in their backyard for hours just talking, swimming, and eating delicious food. Bridget and Will were wonderful hosts.

 It was such a nice weekend away and worth the mountain of dirty camping clothes to wash, coolers to unload, and camping gear to unpack!

Where is this flea market?!!? I'd sooo love to go there someday! Speaking of, there is a place down on Cherokee street here in Stl that is full of weird treasures. It's a place full of all kinds of things from old stl buildings that were being torn down... (window frames, old cool vents, doors, knobs, bathtubs, bricks). There isn't a price on anything but you just ask the guy who runs it how much he wants. It's a fun place and I feel like you'd find potential in lots of things there. I have repurposed a few things! It's called the Junque Store I think but it's not google-able and it's not marked in some old sketchy building. We should plan a time to go! Looks like a great weekend!

Bryan, I agree with Bridget- you were missed.

Rachel- you and I will have to go to Cherokee Street. Soon. You are the third person in a week to tell me how much I would enjoy it.

You have your sarcasm detector set to high. It made my comment appear three times
