{gratitude for ordinary days}

We have plenty of days around here that are not this smooth, so please take this post as an expression of  thankfulness for this ordinary day and not as some kind of a boast-

We are having a snow day today. I am writing and sipping coffee while listening to Luke practice piano. His twenty minutes ended a couple of minutes ago, yet he is still playing. His stamina is definitely increasing. Gracie is writing on her laptop. She has decided it would be fun to update her blog. Drew is reading his new Frozen book to Katie. We were at the book store over the weekend and he could not be happier with his selection. It is written at a beginning reader level that he can handle mostly independently and he has enjoyed reading it out loud dozens of times. The sun is shining and we are all in pajamas. Ben made a huge pot of his tortellini soup yesterday and the leftovers will be a perfect lunch a little later on this blustery day. We recorded Nanny McPhee yesterday and the kids are looking forward to watching it in a bit. It is a family favorite.

I am so grateful for ordinary days like these and the people I get to share them with.
