1. I have spent the day sorting through baby clothes with my little helpers. I have kept it all, so there was lots to go through- most of it not sorted by size or even always gender. I have two huge tubs of baby boy clothes that we will now have no need for. I pulled out about ten items I want to hang onto for sentimental reasons, but the rest is ready for a good home.....after May 25 when I make sure the ultrasound technician is 100% correct in saying girl!
2. Gracie and Luke had another snow day today (their sixth this school year) and I loved it. It will really be hard when they have an actual, real five day week of school since they haven't had one since the beginning of December.
3. I don't know if I believe in pregnancy cravings, but I can't get chips and guacamole off my mind today. Something will have to be done about this.
4. I think "The Good Wife" is one of the best hours on television right now, but it gives me very little faith in the legal system.
5. Ben and I often laugh about some of the statements that come out of our mouths these days. It seems that once you become a parent of a two-year old, you say things you never thought you'd have to say. Today I found myself saying, "Drew, we do NOT put our fingers inside our yucky diaper!" Seriously never thought I would have need to say that.
6. Similarly, Drew has begun to repeat these words of wisdom back to me and it makes me smile every time. As I put him in the bathtub each night, he says to me, "I will not splash the water all over the floor." As I put him in his bed at naptime, he says to me, "I will not get off this bed until I rest." If I am near the stove and he comes into the kitchen, he says to me, "I will not touch the stove. It is hot!"
7. I have been bitten by the nesting bug something fierce.
8. Gracie and I sewed together last night for the first time in about two months and it was really fun. She made a pillow for her Kit doll and I made a camera strap cover.
9. I had forgotten how nerve-wracking ultrasounds are until we were at the doctor's office yesterday. The technician checked so many measurements while telling us which birth defect she was checking for that I found myself holding my breath.
10. I read on a blog today a woman saying that in ten years of marriage she and her husband had never been in a fight. She is either lying or she is not in a healthy relationship. Ben and I are not fighters at all, but occasionally a couple just disagrees. If they've never had a fight in ten years of marriage, somebody is not being honest about his or her feelings or someone is a completely weak, passive person. I just found it a very odd statement to brag about. (and I'm not sure why I even care......)
11. I will admit that I have spent the day wearing pajama pants, one of Ben's hoodies, no make-up, and my warm, generic Ugg boots. I look a bit like a "before" on a makeover show, but I am fully embracing the fun of a snow day. We've not gone anywhere or seen anyone.
12. We have a really cruddy washing machine that makes really loud noises and shakes as it runs (Drew runs away screaming "Rhino noises! Rhino noises!" when it gets exceptionally loud.), but I just can't be excited about getting a new one. As long as it still gets the clothes clean, it is hard to justify spending $600+ to get a new one when there are so many other things to spend money on. One of these days in the very near future it will stop working and then the decision will be made for us, but until then....
Now, tag......you're it! Fellow bloggers, if you'd like, I'd love to hear twelve things on your mind today. Don't give it too much though- I clearly did not! :)

1. I really enjoy the blog. Even though I live with you and the kids (when I'm not traveling see # 2) it gives me a good snap shot all the time. It helps balance me when I am away as well.
2. I am traveling too much.
3. My weight has been very sympathetic during this pregnancy.
4. I am so relieved after the ultrasound. I was fine either way with the gender but I am happy for Gracie and Leslie that it is a girl. The stress of watching the measurements was brutal.
5. I get too hung up when I am working on a project and have trouble thinking of much else. Those bookcases are driving me nuts.
6. GRacie seems to be really moving into a tweener way too quickly.
7. I hate Illinois basketball a lot.
8. I listened to a pod cast on Celiac disease and have convinced myself that I am allergic to gluten (I seriously doubt I am)
9. I am in love with my new company Ford Fusiion. It is nice to have a new car, but even nicer to have one that I don't have to pay for.
10. The myth of Southern winters is BS.
11. I am glad that my Dad is feeling much better and I feel for him in his struggle to quit smoking.
12. I realized that I will 56 when my youngest daughter SHOULD graduate college and will likely be over 60 when she gets married. When did I change from being a young parent??
2. I am trying to be brief with my comments as my 32 things had to go into 2 post. I am wordy.
3. Thinking alot about babies, after all they are all around me.
4.I really dislike those Highlander commercials and think that kid is a brat. He should be happy that his parents have a car. I think it sends a bad message.
5.The above statement makes me wonder if I am taking them too seriously? but they are on all the time! and precocious kids annoy me.
6.I have a hole in the wall of my newly remodeled kitchen but I am not freaking out because Will is putting in a cool touch screen computer for me. I hate having my laptop taking up counter space and I like to use recipes online.
7.Some of the things that have been on my mind lately are just a bit too personal to share just yet.
8. I still have performance reviews that I need to get done but I have been putting it off. it will take like 20 minutes and it's not like I have to reprimand anyone but for some reason I keep procrastinating.
9.I also have to do laundry tonight. I hate doing laundry.
10. I have a 47 inch TV in my bedroom now which I think is ridiculous but if I sold it I would probably only get enough to buy a smaller new TV so why would I downsize?
10. I need a vacation
11. I like the people I work with (not just Will). They make me laugh.
12. We are putting a TV in our dining room. I know some people would say meal time is time to catch up on your day but Will and I spend pretty much all of our time together.
I know this list is sort of random but I decided to list things as they popped in my mind.
1.) The doctor’s appointment was not very informative yesterday – Paul’s O2 level is still low (93%) even on oxygen. I wonder how low it used to be…..
2.) I love that Paul is becoming aware of his role in taking care of his health – he’s all about his medications, not smoking any more and trying to eat healthier. It gives me hope.
3.) I did not get the plant job that I applied for. I don’t know that I really wanted it, but the idea of getting out of my current job is more appealing as the days go by.
4.) I love the people that I work with and they are the main reason that I will stick it out here as long as I can.
5.) I keep gaining and losing the same 5 pounds.
6.) I have found some new authors (Karen White and Jane Green) that I like. They write Chick-Lit – what I call “junk food” books – just the perfect comfort food for snowy January days.
7.) I miss my grandbabies and I am looking forward to spending time with them in February.
8.) Paul will still be off work in February – so he can come to Knoxville with me to watch the kidlets, if that still is the plan. He’s getting stronger every day and is looking forward to some concentrated kidlet time. Christmas in the hospital kind of sucked.
9.) I love our dog Buck more than I can tell you. As he snuggles in bed between Paul and I every night, I say a silent prayer that he lives a long and healthy life.
10.) I love my gym and the people who go there. Most of them I don’t see outside the gym and I don’t even know some of their last names – but they make me laugh and surround me with their love and concern when I’m working out. Group fitness rocks!
11.) Bridget makes me laugh – even when she doesn’t try to. She’s so conscientious and hard working and so happy with most of her life now. But she has that Grace worry gene – and thinks of the gosh-darndest things to worry about. I love that girl!
12.) Bryan has been spending more time with us – which is a bonus. He is like me in many ways and I love talking books and movies with him. Buck greets him with unbridled joy!
I love the Blog and the creative ways you keep us all engaged Leslie. Give everyone kisses and take it easy this weekend.
Love you,
Patti
2, I am mad that my new washer (1 1/2 years) has a leak in the soap dispenser unit and had to be repaired.
3. I am glad that it was only the dispenser unit and not the drum.
4. My sweet little Sadie dog has been getting her hair cut this morning and I realize the house is so empty without her. She is now ten and I worry about her.
3. On the 19th, I will no longer be the mother of a teenager. Elizabeth turns twenty! It is both good and bad.
4. I love retirement!
5. After subbing one day this week, I am thankful I do not have to listen to Ashari every day.
6. I am thankful for the seat warmer my thoughtful husband had installed in my Highlander.
7. I am definitely a spring-summer person. I like being out walking, working with my flowers or just enjoying the birds and the sunshine.
8. I have piles of scrapbooking that I need to work on. I miss the group of friends that used to get together. It made the scrapbooking go faster.
9. I am thankful for our small family. I worry all of the time about them.
10. I am grateful for all of my friends and extended family.
11. Elizabeth is on break. I will miss her when she goes back.
12. it is nice that Keith and I are able to be retired and spend this time together. He is happy to run errands for me, so I don't have to get out in the snow.
