randomness

* Drew has been so much fun this morning- completely agreeable and laid-back and super sweet. What's going on? ;)

* Something about this pregnancy is making food taste really, really, really good.  I'm enjoying food like I've never experienced. It makes me understand "foodies" a little better.  This is great and all, except for the fact that I am gaining more weight than I should. I should probably feel guilty about this....

* While in the lobby of the post office this morning, an older woman came over to us to comment on Drew's cute puppy dog hat. He responded to her and the two of them had about a five minute conversation! She got a kick out of him and I just marveled at how quickly his vocabulary is growing. As we were walking away, she rested her hand on my arm and said, "You enjoy each and every minute of him, you understand? It goes too fast, believe me."

* The sun is shining so brightly today! Through the window it looks like it is just beautiful out... and then you step outside. It is shockingly cold here.

* Ben got home last night after being gone all week and he doesn't have to travel again for a little bit. I won't know what to do with myself having him around each evening! I'm only kind of kidding.

* My wonderful sister and brother-in-law got me an updated version of Adobe Photoshop for Christmas and I've been a bit obsessed with it this week, trying to figure out what in the world I am doing. I'm making slow progress, but it is fun to have the challenge.

* Ben thought the pages at the top of the blog needed an explanation. If you haven't noticed them, there are now a couple of extra pages- a page of occasional posts by Gracie and a page for the Project 365 photography challenge I just began again for 2011.

I suppose I have stalled enough. A messy kitchen awaits me, as does a kindergartener needing picked up soon.

Happy Friday, everyone! Have a wonderful weekend!

Amen to the lady in the Post Office - no matter how you try to slow it down, they grow up too fast! You do a great job of living in the moment and appreciating every stage. It's hard sometimes to enjoy it when you don't have a minute to breathe!
