{oh, snowy day}

It's such a quiet, mellow day around here. We're snowed in and it's still coming down. A lot of STL is shut down. Gracie was supposed to be singing the national anthem at a hockey game this afternoon with her choir, but that got cancelled. Ben is taking his turn being sick- boo!- so the rest of us are hanging out enjoying a day of books, naps, card games, cookie baking, painting, Poptropica, and movies.

I can't seem to stop looking out the window today. Does anyone else find the beauty of falling snow almost hypnotizing? I couldn't resist venturing out into it with my camera, though my shots barely do it justice. The kids had hopes to head outside too, but it is so windy and cold out that their mean mama wouldn't let them. The local news station just predicted blizzard conditions will continue for the next three hours at least. The high tomorrow is supposed to be four degrees.

I can enjoy the beauty of this storm simply because we don't have to go out in it. The kids are already scheduled off of school tomorrow for Professional Development for their teachers, so our tomorrow will probably look a lot like our today. No complaints here.
