I am so amused by news coverage in St. Louis. When there is inclement weather, this town goes a little crazy… all fed by the media, in my opinion.

The Today Show is frequently pre-empted by additional local news coverage so they can show thirty extra minutes of scenes of highway traffic. This morning the reporter stood on a bridge for five minutes over I 270 to point out that the cars were moving slowly in the northbound lanes, but a little faster in the southbound lanes. She then had the camera person move the camera to the ground to show us the inch of clean, white snow over all of yesterday's brown and dirty snow. It was on in the background as we were getting backpacks ready for school and we all turned to look, as if expecting to see something more interesting than new snow on top of old snow. :)

Because most of the area schools were closed for the day, I am a bit surprised that my kids do have school.  Not sad, mind you, just surprised. We've been a little cooped up lately and they had a good time at school yesterday, so going today is perfectly fine with all of us.  Katie and I were supposed to be watching a friend's baby girl for the day, but her mom works in a district that got called off, so our day suddenly got a lot quieter.
