I have been making an attempt to do a workout video each morning after I take Gracie and Luke to school. Katie and Drew usually do a combination of playing on the couch next to me and exercising with me. Today Drew just sat on the couch and watched me.

You might think I would be beyond the ability to feel self conscious around my four year old. I mean, truthfully, it has only been the last year or so that I have been able to use the restroom without his companionship. But this workout video is a little complicated and I am still learning the moves, and a person can only hear, "You don't really look like her when you do it." and "I think you are doing it wrong." so many times before feeling a little uncoordinated and consequently a little self conscious.

We might have, again, had a little talk about keeping some thoughts to yourself.

Hilarious. Don't feel bad I was learning a new Zumba dance last night Chad is laughing from the couch and Emmy says just do it like that and Addi is next to me doing it better than I can. So I move to the elliptical which is out of batteries and then outside in the humidity for a long walk.

Girls,

Next time you do these videos, just picture in your mind, your spare tire wearing Dad doing them.

Trust me, when you quit laughing (or shivering), you'll feel much better about yourself.

Erin, I can totally picture the scene in your house. Thanks for the smile.

And, Dad, I don't know.... Mom told me how you two were dancing last Saturday night. She said you were "cutting a rug" right in front of the stage and it sounds so much like you both that I am sure she was not kidding. (ha!) "Dance like no one is watching," right? :)

Leslie,

I just prefer to dance on the inside:) It seems to work for Mom too.
