{one of those days}

We're having one of those days.

Kate is having some issues with spitting up.
Gracie and Luke are having some issues with one another.
Drew is having issues with the world this afternoon.
I am having some issues from a serious lack of sleep. (Sidenote- I feel asleep in the exam room at the doctor's office waiting for the pediatrician this morning. Stick a sleep-deprived new mama in a quiet room for twenty minutes.....)

Tempers are a little shorter than they should be and I find myself digging a little deeper for patience. The house is a bit messier than normal and meals are a lot simpler.

But we're making it. I have almost survived my first week as a stay-at-home mom to four.

Bring on week two.....

May the force be with you, momma! I feel your pain! I think of you often as I am having many of the same moments you described. Each day is an adventure!

Hang in there Leslie!! Kids always act out at the wrong time! Everyone is adjusting to the new schedule (or lack of one) they are feeling the shift of change. It will get better there are worse things than a messy house and simple meals. Don't be so hard on yourself give yourself a break!!!! I think you are "wonder woman"!!!
Time is your friend now and in time you will slip into a routine that everyone can live with.

Love,
Sally

It's funny how the "new mom" memory that stays with me the most is the lack of sleep. The pain of labor and bickering kids are fuzzy recollections, but the debilitating effects of sleepless days and nights remain with me nearly 32 years after my firstborn came home from the hospital. I was just talking about this with Molly today. After about a week of no sleep, I vividly remember laying in my waterbed with Andy beside me wondering if his parents were ever going to pick him up. I was having a delirious day dream that I was only babysitting...and that as soon as his parents arrived I could go to sleep.

Hang in there. It will get better. Just let the house go and feed the kids cereal. And nap whenever you get the chance!
