- hot cocoa being drunk around the clock around here, always with three tiny marshmallows and always in a Santa mug
- packing my last school lunch for sixteen days
- The shopping is done and, after a marathon wrapping session this morning, the presents are all wrapped and sitting under the tree.

- Christmas cards that make getting the mail much more fun than usual

- the anticipation of lots of family time in Illinois
- cookie-making ingredients sitting on the kitchen counter
- flutters from my growing belly
- new cozy boots that I haven't felt like taking off all day, an early Christmas present from Ben
- tickets to see Garth Brooks tomorrow night in Nashville with some of my favorite relatives
- Drew's new trick of peeing while standing up over his little potty- so messy but completely hilarious!
