two weeks in....

...and we've found our summer groove!

It's always interesting transitioning from the school year to summer break or vice versa. We are very much routine people and our days are scheduled to help things go smoothly. It isn't a set-in-stone schedule by any means, but more of a structure that keeps the kids busy, happy, and learning. (I'm aware that it might sound a bit anal to some of you that I schedule our day, but I'd challenge you to come spend a few days here with us! Three young kids- two of whom no longer nap- can make for a looong day if they are bored or not getting along well!)

It took almost two weeks, but we've found our schedule for the summer and we're having a great time.

Tidbits from our life this week-
* The kids have had Vacation Bible School each morning and LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Even baby Drew has been having a great time playing in the nursery while I volunteer.
* The kids got to dress up as cowboys for a Wild West class at the library on Wednesday...pretty cute!
* Drew had his nine month checkup on Tuesday. He's doing wonderfully!
* Ben and Gracie went to a snakes presentation at the library last night and Gracie got to touch snakes. Surprisingly, Luke opted to stay at home. I think he was tired out from VBS.
* The kids have been busy creating Father's Day surprises for their daddy and grandpas for this weekend.
* Drew is now pulling up on everything and loves to stand at the front of the couch. He pulls up to a stand in his crib and thinks that he can't get back down, making it harder to put him down for a nap.
* A neighbor gave us an entire tub of Little People toys to add to our collection. Luke has done nothing else since we got them. I love to hear the little stories and voices he uses as he plays.
* We're crossing our fingers to get to go on our annual Father's Day camping trip this weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Hope you are having a great week! Happy Friday!

What was Drew's height/weight?

He's in the sixtieth percentile for weight at 22 pounds and in the 85th percentile for height.

And Drew has officially passed up Millie in weight... She was sick with the flu the week before last and was STILL under 20 pounds when we took her in. I gotta get that girl to eat more! Oh, and I would love to see what your schedule with the kids looks like -- I'm still having trouble figuring out how I'm going to attend to a newborn's needs, Millie's needs, AND the needs of the house (let alone my own!). Fortunately, Scott doesn't have high expectations for me getting a lot of housework done in the beginning ;).
