I think I should make a sign for Drew to wear on his shirt:
You don't have to tell my mama that my eye has "gunk" in it. She knows. I have a clogged tear duct. I have had it since birth and it just hasn't healed. My parents wipe my eye so often that they have to be careful not to rub the skin around my eye raw. Tell my mama how cute I am and NOT that she needs to wipe my eye. Thank you.
Seriously, if one more stranger comes up to me and tells me that my sweet baby boy has "gunk," "sleep," or (best of all) an "eye booger," I will scream. What are people thinking?
I also get tired of people commenting on Gracie's tooth. That's even worse in my opinion because she is old enough to feel self conscious about it. She hurt her tooth last November and the injured tooth has some root damage causing it to be a little gray. You would not believe the number of people- children and adults!- that comment or ask about her tooth. Some people are clueless.

It makes you realize how tough it must be for people whose children have a permanent disability - I'm sure people say equally stupid things to them.
Hang in there - tomorrow will be sunny and maybe the clueless people will stay inside!!

I know just how you feel. Those people always find me and feel the need to tell me something I already know. Hello Captain Obvious! It always amazes me how many people think I am interested in their stupid observations.
