I have broken up with Mr. 3 AM, but seem to be having a rebound relationship with Mr. 5 AM. Let's hope he is just a fling. He is an improvement, but I'd really like to be dating Mr. 7 AM again.

So, while it is only ten in the morning, I've had lots of time on my hands already today. I've had two mugs of tea, finished packing my bag for the hospital, watched last night's Olympic gymnastic events on TiVo, mopped the kitchen floor (my least favorite job in the entire world!), written two emails, and put away four loads of laundry.
The kids are taking a long bath, so I've been browsing the Internet for the few last baby items we still need. It was a really good idea to put the computer within eyesight of the bathtub- I wish I could say we had realized at the time what we were doing. :) Gracie and Luke can take baths that last up to ninety minutes-really- and it gets so very boring to sit in the bathroom and watch them play with their bath toys! With the computer nearby, I can email, blog, and surf while still keeping an eye on them.
It is the last week of summer for us before Gracie begins kindergarten on Monday. We've not really had many plans, but in a good way. We did spend most of the day Tuesday on-the-go, picking up a few school supplies, getting some preschool paperwork notarized, shopping for new tennis shoes, and heading to lunch at the restaurant of the kids' choice- Steak & Shake.
Ben has finished refinishing the dresser for the nursery and has moved on to building a bookcase for the room as well. You wouldn't tell looking at the room right now that two months ago it was a chocolate brown office/guest room. I really like the colors we chose- very soothing blues, shades of green, and lots of ivory. We still have more to do, but are optimistic that we can have it completed in the next couple of weeks.
Still no name decisions, but not for lack of thought. What a constant topic of conversation in our house! Maybe we'll have to meet him before we decide....
So that's us. There's not too much on the agenda for today, but tomorrow is Gracie's Open House at her new elementary school. We're really looking forward to seeing her classroom and meeting her teacher. Ben is hoping to take Friday off so we can do something fun with the kids before school starts next week. I have another OB appointment on Friday too, and I'm looking forward to hearing how he's doing.
I'll leave you with a picture of the kids doing Gracie's yoga DVD. Gracie has been into it for a while, but this morning was the first time Luke has shown any interest in joining her.

Work is so incredibly stressful right now and I'm constantly worrying that I am not getting something done - and I'm right, I'm not!! I'm sure that it's spilling over into my dreams. That's what the amateur psychologists here at work say, anyway. Your mind can certainly play tricks on you.
