Facts About Kindergarten, according to Gracie:

I have asked Gracie to share some facts about her school year so far. I'll attempt to keep up with her-

1. We get to do crafts. Yesterday we did a first day face. Today we made a school bus. The teacher made a book about our first day face. My face was a happy face because I was excited.
2. We got to wear a neat shirt on the first day of school. Every grade got a different color. Mine was yellow.
3. We get to hear stories. We get to listen to her read.
4. We get to bring our own backpacks and I got to pick mine out. It has pretty hearts on it and it has special pockets in the front to hold accessories and school supplies.
5. We can all be friends. We are supposed to be kind.
6. My teacher's name is Mrs. Crones. She is a good teacher because she does good things and helps us too. When we have trouble with something, she can help us. Today she ate an apple for lunch.
7. My classroom has lockers, shapes, books, toys, desks, school supplies...there are drawers with things we need like pencils, crayons, dry erase markers...you are supposed to keep one of everything in your supply box. I like mine because it is pink.
8. My friends are Gillian and Jack. Jack keeps standing in front of me in line and turning around to say hi.
9. We say this pledge everyday. I don't know it yet. (I just started saying the Pledge of Allegiance and Gracie got really excited. "Yeah- that's it!!"she said in absolute amazement that I knew what she was talking about.)
10. Some kids get to ride on the school bus and some kids don't. We learned about school buses and the color yellow today.
11. There is a boy in my class who is silly all of the time. The teacher said to him today, "You'll have to hold my hand in the hallway."
12. There is a doctor in my school in case you are running on the playground and you might fall on the sidewalk and get a hurt knee.

"I'm done. The end of my finish."

I can hardle believe that Grace is old enough for kindergarten. it's wierd because I think she can not already be such a big kid when just yesterday she was a baby but at the same time it seems like she has always been part of our lives, strange how life works. I love just being around her she reminds me of Ben so much when we were kids with her funny puns and great sense of humor but I also see so much leslie in her kind ways and sesitive nature and both of your artistic flair. she is a good mix. I miss you all and can't wait to see you soon. silly it hasn't been that long but it sure seems like it.

I hear that Luke has dubbed himself the weakest Super Hero. what a funny guy!

P.S. I think August 29th is a good birthday :-)

Gracie being charming, surprising. That girl is going to be alright any where she goes in life. She has Ben's charm and Leslie's smarts. She has no choice but to be great.
