a great day in Illinois

Friday held much sweetness for the kids and for me. 

After a late night arrival to Decatur the night before, we woke up to coffee with Gram & Grandpa on their patio. I have a wonderful picture of this that somehow got deleted. :( We then hit some garage sales with my mom where I scored 45 children's books for $5.00. 

Ten cent books make this lady really, really happy. 

It was then off to Springfield for the day to spend time with my best friend and her little boys, most especially to meet this precious little bundle- 

We ate burgers and shakes for lunch and then went to an indoor play museum. The kids ran for almost three hours straight while I got to cuddle a baby and talk with Kari. Life was very good for all. 

We left Springfield late in the afternoon to head back to my parent's house. The kids got to spend some time with cousins and then we were off to Peoria for the Avett Brothers concert. Ben flew into St. Louis that afternoon and then drove as quickly as he could to meet us in Decatur so we could all go to the concert together. All afternoon we were not sure what time we would actually arrive in Peoria, but we got to the concert two songs in to the opening act and didn't miss a thing. Hooray for no traffic and no flight delays!
