{laundry confusion}

I just asked Grace and Luke to bring me their dirty clothes from their weekend away. Luke asked me, in seriousness, if I wanted him to place the entire bag in the washing machine because "the bag could probably even use a wash."

I asked, just to make sure I was hearing him correctly, if he really thought he could place the entire unopened duffel bag into the washing machine and have everything come out clean. The look on his face told me that he did and that he did not understand why this question baffled me.

It might be time to up the household responsibilities for my soon-to-be fourth grader. He will thank me someday.
