my 2013 "bonus"

Luke's teacher shared with me this response that he wrote to the prompt "Write a paragraph about your hero."
It is without exaggeration that I share that I don't know if a single piece of paper has ever made me feel more proud. Being a mom is not a job that comes with much recognition or awards. There are no raises or bonus checks or reward trips to Cancun. There isn't even a cool job title to give when strangers ask what I do; "stay at home mom" is about the lamest sounding job title I know.
This gem of a writing piece is my 2013 "bonus" for the year.

I am always impressed by your children and the "job" you do as a mother. You are raising Luke to be a sensitive, appreciative, respectful, loving man (like his father). Some woman is going to be very lucky. Sandi
