the standoff.

I am simultaneously impressed and annoyed by the standoff Luke is having this afternoon against me and his eye drops.

I seriously had no idea the kid could be so stubborn.

I am not above bribery on this issue and just may have tried to win the standoff with the promise of a milk shake.  When that didn't work, I encouraged his siblings to tell me how yummy their milkshakes were.  Loudly. When that didn't work, I turned on a cartoon and invited Gracie and Drew to watch it with me. When that didn't lure him off of his bed, I turned the television up.  The little stinker finally said, "I hear you and I know what you are trying to do, but I am not coming out if I have to get eye drops!"

He has chosen to sit on his bed for the past ninety minutes rather than get a tiny drop put into his eye. I have a feeling this may go on for a while.

I kind of bet that Gracie is hoping that it does. I'm sure she's wondering what other good things this could mean for her.

Unfortunately for her, I have entered the wait-it-out stage of the standoff.

This is so funny to me. I can just picture this scenario and it makes me laugh so hard. I will be hopeless as a parent when it comes to these situations because there is NO WAY I could keep a straight face while all this is going on around me.

Meaghan, I often have a hard time keeping a straight face when trying to discipline the kids, especially Drew lately. He can be so cute and funny right in the middle of being completely mischevious! Ben always teases me about it- I can't help but laugh, even when I don't want to!
