Warning- this is a pregnancy post. Some male readers (I think we have at least four......) are welcome to skip this post and scroll on down to Halloween pictures below. :)

I really don't love this beginning part of pregnancy. The tiredness. The nausea. The hunger.  The extreme thirst. Getting used to frequent trips to the bathroom once again.

It would seem like by the fourth time around I would be getting used to all of this, right? But Mother Nature really does have a way of making you forget all of the hard parts as time passes. I keep reminding myself that all of this is fleeting and that this is the very last time I will have the joy of experiencing pregnancy.  The problem is, when you are running to the bathroom to lose the dinner you just ate, it doesn't feel much like joy.

I am stuck in the tricky stage of early pregnancy where my regular clothes are getting really snug, but I am not yet big enough for maternity clothes. I don't look pregnant yet to anyone else, just like I have been enjoying a little too much Halloween candy. Getting dressed in the morning is becoming a little depressing; I actually have a Rubbermaid container sitting next to the closet to collect all of the clothes that I try to put on and discover are too tight or now completely unflattering.

My complaints should definitely be taken lightly here. I may gripe occasionally, but I really am so happy to be pregnant. Typically I have started to feel really good at about fourteen weeks along and have pretty smooth pregnancies in general- knock on wood- so I am just waiting this beginning stage out.

On a side note- I am amazed that any coherent thoughts were able to be typed in this post. The kids are all home with me today because elementary schools are closed for Election Day. As I have typed, I have been interrupted at least a dozen times. What's funny about this is that I only got on the computer because all three were playing so nicely together in the boy's room.  Without fail, the second I get on the computer or the telephone, I am immediately needed. I am told this is universal among all mothers and children everywhere. :)

I feel your pain about feeling depressed when getting dressed. Why do maternity clothes have to be so unflattering? I already miss regular clothes and feeling cute! I've decided I might take on a new shoe obsession since the clothing issue is a bit hopeless.

Oh Leslie....I am right there with you every step of the way (really, we're both due on the same day!) I remember it lasting til about 6 months with Ella, so I am hoping that this pregnancy will be a little easier but so far its all too familiar!

This too shall pass, my dear friend. I know it feels like it never will..but as one who just walked that path, it really does!
Then you get to look forward to the 3rd trimester "gifts" of pregnancy!:)

Molly- I can't believe we have the same due date! What are the odds of that?
Kelly- I completely, completely agree! I got online this morning to look at some maternity things and most of the clothes were awful! Why are pregnant women supposed to suddenly want to buy clothes they wouldn't be caught dead in normally? My mom and aunts all tell me how far maternity clothing has come too!

Allie- the third trimester symptoms you've experienced sound just awful! I am hoping to avoid those "gifts"! :)
