a completely random and hodgepodge list of thoughts

• I am sipping a hot tea and watching dinner cook. The kids are happily playing together and nobody has yelled in at least ten minutes! If you could have heard the three of them from 3:45 to 4:30 or so, you would know why this sudden change in the mood of the house has me relieved- and why I am taking a moment to myself after 45 minutes of playing referee.
• I stopped in Subway for lunch today while leaving an appointment and driving to pick up Drew at MDO. I had a Meatball sub for the first time in so many years and I swear I was right back in college.  The dorm next to my dorm freshman year had a Subway in the lobby that students could pay for with their meal cards. I ate a lot of Subway that year.
• I had another doctor's appointment this morning and got to see an ultrasound picture of sweet little baby again.  As soon as the technician had the baby on the screen, we saw him/her do a quick little somersault. It is amazing how thirty seconds of bliss watching your baby on the screen can almost erase weeks of feeling cruddy.  It is all such a miracle.
• Drew is cracking me up these days. I really find two to be just about the funniest age there is.
• Luke informed me this morning that rather than asking him to brush his teeth, I really need to ask him to brush his mouth since he is supposed to brush his tongue and gums too.  I had to agree with his logic.
• Ben is headed to Nashville for a few days and, among other fun things, will be attending the CMA Awards. I will try my hardest not to throw a big, jealous fit when he leaves tomorrow.
