After a leisurely morning at Patti and Paul's, Ben and I took the kids to the Decatur Children's Museum for a couple of hours of play. We love that museum more every time that we are there! Gracie loved the doctor's office and bubble station. Luke loved the climbing activity and the mechanic's station. Drew loved the air supply tube activity and the train table. The admission price was very reasonable and we had the place to ourself. It was a perfect Monday morning activity for us. To top it off, we ate Monical's for lunch....mmmmmmm! (Second time this week for the kids and I.....oh, how I love my Monical's!)
After a rest for the boys, laundry for me, and a mani/pedi for Gracie with Nini, the fun continued that night as we went to Ted's Diner in Clinton for dinner and then on to Normal for a baseball game. We stuffed ourselves with cheeseburgers, fries, milkshakes, onion rings, chili, and breaded mushrooms. The diner was set up with a car theme, complete with a Soapbox Derby car on display for Drew to climb into (over and over and over and over again!).
The Cornbelter's game was a great time. I really enjoyed watching the game with Luke especially, explaining the game of baseball to him and having it make sense to him for the first time. Now that he understands the basics he is excited to sign up to play on a team next summer. I had a feeling it would take going to a game to get him interested. It was Farm Appreciation Night and there were large tractors on display for the kids to climb on. Drew was so very excited!
It really was a wonderful night and it was so nice for us to get to spend spend time with both sets of grandparents, Bridget, Will, and Bryan.
