Every once in a while, when I have absolutely no idea that it's coming, my sweet little guy will decide to surprise me with some early morning mommy/baby bonding time. :)

This morning he decided he was up for the day a little after five. He was not the least bit crabby (or he would have stayed in his crib to eventually fall back asleep) and showered me with hugs, kisses, tickles and giggles. We cuddled on the couch, sang a few songs, and read a couple of books. He helped me make coffee. He shared his Cheerios with me. He arranged and rearranged the magazines on the coffee table while I watched a little TV. He helped me make scrambled eggs for breakfast for the big kids. He helped me wake up Gracie and get her ready for school. In short, he was the perfect morning companion and gave me a really wonderful start to my day.

(Not that I want to start my day this early every day, but every now and then it is really cozy. )

An added bonus? By 9:30 he was ready for a nap. He fell asleep the second I put him in his crib and just woke up a few moments ago at 1:00. Yes, a three and a half hour nap! Luke has been completely preoccupied with his Tinkertoys and stuffies, so I have had the entire morning to get some things done. The kitchen is now 75% painted.....yay!

Sounds like a perfect morning!

Okay, Gina suggested Target for the hat of all places! She said a big floppy sun hat! I am sure there are boutiques there that carry them though

Good! I actually saw some at our Target that totally looked chic. I was really surprised...and this girl knows her events...so if she said it, I trust it
