rainy Wednesday morning

We're struggling to figure out a new schedule around here. Drew is caught in that trap of not really needing two long naps a day, but not really able to make it by with only one. If he gets one nap, he is falling apart and desperately ready for bed by seven. This would be just fine, but then by about four in the morning, he feels like he is done sleeping. Waking up for the day this early is clearly not the ideal situation for Drew or for me.

If he gets two naps, he is not ready for bed until 10:30 or so. This would be fine, but now that I have begun babysitting again, going the entire day without any time I am not holding/chasing/feeding a baby is really mentally and physically tiring. I really need "my"time to begin earlier than 10:30 at night.

Yesterday he had two great naps, was super happy all day, but then stayed up until 10:40. And was up and ready to be awake for the day at five this morning. He's trying to turn his night owl of a mama into an early riser!

So it's a two-cup-of-coffee-morning for me on this rainy Wednesday.

On the plus side, you know those days when you just feel productive? That's me today. It might be the two cups of coffee. :)

Happy Wednesday!

I feel your pain! By the time I take care of babies ALL DAY LONG I just need some time to myself--usually cooking dinner or cleaning the house or reading to/playing with Addison. I have been falling asleep when I put Addison to bed--(I think sometimes before she does). So I get up at 5:30 am in hopes to have a shower and cup of coffee, facebook, and maybe 20 minutes of Oprah, or one of the other million shows I have on DVR before my responsibilities resume. It seems like when I pour my coffee, that is her wake up call. It stinks because Chad stays up late, and I get up early so our hang out time is rare these days.

PS thanks for introducing me to the playlist on the blog!
