St. Louis

We took off Friday for a little getaway to visit the Millers in St. Louis. (A completely unimportant but kind of funny side story, especially if you know how much of a planner I am....... Kelly and I had somehow miscommunicated and she thought we were visiting on October 17/18 and I thought we were visiting on the 24/25. Kelly is as much of a planner as I am, so it was pretty amusing to us when we found out we were talking about getting together on two different weekends. We finally figured it out on Thursday, so I had some fast scrambling to do to pack, make sure my parents could keep the boys, and change a couple of little plans we had made. It all worked out perfectly, though, and Kel and I shared a good laugh about it later. )
We left Friday evening to drop Drew and Luke off with my parents. On the way we stopped at The Beef House in Covington for a yummy meal and randomly ran into my cousin Brandon and his wife Ryan. We hadn't seen them in almost a year, so it was neat to get to visit for a bit. It was a long night of driving, but after taking the boys to Decatur, we arrived in St. Louis around midnight.
Mark, Kelly, Ben, and I spent Saturday visiting the wineries in Hermann. (Gracie and their son, Caleb, spent the day with Caleb's preschool teacher.) The weather was a bit cold, but the wine was tasty, the leaves were beautiful, and the company was great.
The fun continued Saturday night with Fortel's Pizza, board games, a few more drinks, and more talking and laughing. We had plans for karaoke and a firepit, but we were pretty worn out after a full day of wine drinking.
