Wednesday ramblings
As is often the case when I sit down to blog, everyone is asleep and I have the whole quiet house to myself.
There's not a lot going on with us, but Wednesdays seem to make me want to post. I have no idea why.

Random thoughts about our week so far:
- I'm having one of those weird weeks where I keep thinking it is a different day than it really is. I have been convinced it's Thursday all week! The kids have a five day weekend this weekend for Fall Break and I am really looking forward to having so much time together.
- A lot of you already know this about Gracie, but she tends to complete things at her own pace....her own slow pace at times. :) I can count on her to do anything, but I can't count on her to do it quickly. She can happily spend an hour cleaning off her desk or 45 minutes eating lunch. There's real time and then there is "Gracie time" on some days. I had her Parent Teacher Conference after school today and her teacher had many wonderful things to say about her before mentioning that Gracie is often the last student working on assignments. I was worried that the work was too difficult for her, but her teacher says that's not the case at all. I was then worried that she was having a hard time focusing, but her teacher assured me that wasn't the case either. It's tough because I want her to hurry up just a bit so that she is keeping up with the other students, but I really feel uncomfortable telling her to do her work faster if it means she is doing sloppier work. Hhmmm......
- Ben has taught Drew to howl like a werewolf and it is about the cutest thing I've ever seen. Seriously.
- We had a fun family night tonight going out for Chinese and then going to Conner Prairie for all of their Halloween festivities. The highlight of the night for the kids was definitely the puppet show.
- Ben has been traveling ALOT for work lately and will be gone most of the next two weeks, so it has been really nice to have him home all week this week.
- It's amazing what a couple of gallons of paint can do to change the look of a room. Now that fireplace weather is just around the corner, we switched the kids' playroom to the front room and the TV/family area to the room with the fireplace. While we were at it, we decided to paint the walls, switching the wall color from light olive green to ivory. The room looks so much bigger and brighter with the lighter color on the walls!
- We have settled into life with baby Ella spending each day with us. Luke has been extra sweet with her, constantly asking to help burp her or wanting to give her her binky. He likes to call her "Ella Bella Jelly Bean." (I must have said it once and he liked the sound of it. Now he says it all the time!)
- We're excited to be fish sitting for the LePages for the next few days. We'll try our hardest to take great care of little Ice Cream Popcorn LePage. :)
I've lost steam and am off to bed. Happy Wednesday!
