No baby news yet.
For anyone interested in this sort of thing, the OB update is as follows-
I am having contractions, but not regularly. They are, on average, about twenty minutes apart. When I was checked on Tuesday, I was still 3 cm. dilated, as I have been for a while. The doctor is not sure why I seem to be "stuck" where I am, especially with a third pregnancy, but doesn't seem overly concerned about it. My next appointment is on Tuesday. If there is still no change, she would like to induce me on Friday morning (one week from today and nine (!) days after his due date.) Next Friday feels like a really long time from now.
We are all anxious to meet him. Gracie asks me every morning if this will be the day baby Drew comes. Luke is quick to answer, "That's up to God, Sissy!" It makes me smile.
It feels hard to make plans of any kind. I go through most of my day pretty relaxed and trying my hardest to just savor being pregnant, savor being a mommy to two, and grateful for this time. But just every now and then- when a contraction stops me in my tracks or when someone calls for an update or when I have a bout of morning sickness- I feel a little frustrated. It's hard to be in such a state of limbo when waiting for something so exciting. I feel badly for Ben too- he is so anxious to meet this little guy and is having a hard time scheduling appointments. He told me this morning that he thinks this will be the day. Let's hope he knows something I don't.
So, I'll end this update with a lighthearted request that someone volunteers to make sure I read this note a year or two from now if/when I decide to enter this crazy world of pregnancy again:
A NOTE TO MY FUTURE SELF-
Dear Pregnant Leslie,
If you are lucky enough to be expecting a fourth baby, do NOT assume that you will deliver early! You have been told two pregnancies in a row by two different doctors that you will go early, but you don't. Stop falling for it! Assume that your due date is the date you will deliver, and don't spend the weeks leading up to it freaking out about everything.
Sincerely,
Yourself
We will keep you posted if anything happens.
Happy Friday!

He is actually measuring pretty small. The doctor predicts him to weigh about 6.5 pounds, which might be why she is not in a very big hurry to induce me. He's just not done growing, I guess.
Everybody knows how sweet you are:)
