ingredients for a happy tenth birthday for Luke---
* cinnamon rolls and cartoons to start the day
* birthday serenades over the phone
* getting the day off of school (Election Day/ Professional Development for teachers)
* being offered a trip to Toys R Us with birthday money to spend (thanks, Gram & Grandpa!)
* picking whatever he wanted for lunch (He chose pepperoni pizza.)
* getting the afternoon activity of his choice (I offered a museum or the Magic House, but what he really wanted was time to play on his new Disney Infinity. This is the item he spent his birthday money on. Luke is very careful with his money so it was out of character for him to spend so much at once, but he was really excited about it!)
* having a friend over to play for a couple of hours
* a surprise visit from the Fed Ex man bringing a present from Nini & Papa- the new scooter he has been wanting. Luke was so excited he went right out to ride it despite the rain!
* picking the dinner of his choice (He chose grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup.)
* snickerdoodle cookies instead of birthday cake (his very favorite)
* a big surprise from Mom & Dad (a separate post coming soon)
* getting to stay up a little late to watch a movie with Dad (Poor Ben didn't get home from work until 6:30 and missed all of the birthday fun.)
There is much more birthday celebration coming Luke's way on Saturday when we celebrate "10" with some of his friends. Today was a laid-back, fun day to celebrate my Luke. So glad to have gotten to spend the entire day doing what he wanted!
