{checking in}
The more often I blog and take pictures, the easier it is. It becomes second nature to spend a couple of moments jotting down something funny the kids do or to remember to grab my camera on the way out the door. Lately I have not been as good about posting and it makes it harder to get started once again. If more than four or five days pass without a check in on here, it starts to feel like I need to have something big to share to make it worthy of a post. Do you other bloggers know this feeling? I think I must be a frequent poster at heart.
It is early, early morning right now on one of those days that started entirely too early for absolutely no good reason. Why my littles like to wake up at 5:15 on a Saturday morning is just beyond me. Despite the early wake up call, I am enjoying my morning. The coffee is hot and delicious, the kids are being sweet, and it is Saturday. Drew has his first loose tooth and can't stop wiggling it.
My mom, sister, cousin, and two wonderful aunts are headed to St. Louis in a bit to spend 24 hours of girl time and shopping and eating out and talking and laughing (always lots and lots of laughing!). This time together the weekend before Thanksgiving is a tradition for as long as I can remember. My mom and aunts always did it when I was little. The rules state that no Wingard girl can join until she is 21, so this is year 16 for me. Gracie can't wait until she can join us.
As a family, we were supposed to be participating in the St. Jude's 5K this morning. Trane has been a big fundraiser for St. Jude's over the past couple of years and it has become a cause very dear to Ben's heart. Sadly, the walk was cancelled because of concern about the Michael Brown case verdict and the riots and protesting that is predicted to occur. So sad, really, that something being held as a way for people to gather to do good has been cancelled because of people who want to gather in anger.
We get to see our new puppy tomorrow! I have such excited kids! He will not be ready to leave his home for ours for another couple of weeks, but we are so excited to go have a little cuddle with him. Our trip to see him tomorrow is most definitely the highlight of our family's week.
Have a wonderful, wonderful weekend.
