I'm on my laptop watching Drew eat Cheerios and listening to Gracie and Luke play "Christmas" in the playroom. Ella is gone for the day, dinner is in the crockpot, and the house is clean. A moment of calm! :)

It's been a very ordinary week and it doesn't feel like Christmas is just a matter of days away. We're all worried about Patti, who has been in the hospital since Monday morning with a bleeding ulcer that just won't stop bleeding. It's one of those times when it would be so nice to live closer to our family. Ben, especially, is wishing that he could be at the hospital with his mom.

The kids are wrapping up their last couple of days before Winter Break. Luke's last day is tomorrow and Gracie's is Friday. School has been full of fun holiday activities for each of them and they are loving every second of it! I am really excited to help throw Gracie's class party on Friday afternoon.

Drew has been wide awake each night at about four in the morning and staying awake for an hour or two. It started with his ears hurting, but now it seems more like a bad habit that he has picked up. It's not fun.

Not too much else to share. Please say a prayer for a speedy recovery for Patti- I'm sure she can't wait to get out of the hospital!

Patti sounds a lot better today, hopefully she'll be home tomorrow. I just want her to take it easy when she does get home!

I remember Joe doing the exact same thing when he was Drew's age, I think it does become a habit...one the kid seems to enjoy! This too shall pass. I'd say take a nap but I know that's just a dream during the week. Hang in there.
