{making me happy today}
Drew is napping, Gracie is at school, and Luke just finished his violin lesson and is sitting on the couch reading a Halloween book. I've got a hot cup of coffee sitting next to me and some freshly cut fall flowers in a vase right in front of me. I'm having one of those cozy afternoons that just make me feel so very happy.
Things making me happy today:
1. I'm loving this beautiful fall weather and the changing colors on the trees. The boys and I ran to the store this morning and the drive was just so pretty- I feel like the trees get more gorgeous every day.
2. I have all of the ingredients ready for white chicken chili for dinner tonight. Soup and bread is my favorite fall meal, hands down.
3. Pumpkins of all sizes and colors seem to keep finding their way to my house. :)

4. Drew took ten steps this morning. Ten steps.
5. For years, every time we walked by a Cinnabon stand at a mall, I would say to Ben, "Why don't they come out with a candle that smells like Cinnabon?" Imagine my excitement last week when I came across a Cinnabon Maple Pecan candle at the store. I can not tell you how yummy this candle smells.

6. I love this cute little witch that Gracie drew last night, especially the hat she cut out of felt.

7. There are some Halloween sewing projects just waiting on the table to work on with Gracie when she gets home from school in a couple of hours.

8. My favorite find in Clinton last weekend was this great old scale. I love how it looks sitting out on the kitchen counter and Gracie and Luke love weighing every small item they can think of.

9. Sweater weather has arrived. I can't think of a more comfy outfit than a favorite pair of jeans, a sweater, and a pair of boots.
10. I just purchased some new songs for my iPod. Among them are " All I Ask For Anymore" by Trace Adkins, "Say Hey" by Michael Franti and Spearhead, "Alright" by Darius Rucker, "Lemonade" by Chris Rice (thanks, Hume family!), "Cowboy Casanova" by Carrie Underwood, and "Out Last Night" by Kenny Chesney. Having fun music in the background makes loading the dishwasher sooo much more tolerable!
Happy Tuesday, friends and loved ones! :)

Gracie and I have dreamed up lots of fun Halloween crafts; we'll have to see what we can actually get to! She has started a felt wreath in black that is like the red felt garland we made last Christmas. I'm making a Halloween bib for Drew and a onesie with a pumpkin on the front. I also have big plans for some cute birthday party invitations for Luke, who has decided that he wants his birthday party to be a Halloween party.
