summering
I just love summer.
The pace really fits me. Our school year is full enough that summer feels like a necessary reset and refresh for our family. We choose not to do all of the lessons and camps and things that would probably be really great because we/I need the down time.
Our summer life this year is pretty inconsistent: Some days we head out to do things together and some days we are in pajamas all day long. Some days we follow a schedule and other days we loaf around and nap off late nights. Some days we have it together in terms of summer learning/homeschooling and other days we alternate between Netflix and library books and drawing for a large chunk of the day. Some days we are awesome about chores and working around the house and other days I am cleaning up breakfast dishes after tucking Kate and Drew into bed for the night.
A travel freeze has been issued for Ben for the month of July, so we are going to get ridiculously and wonderfully spoiled by having the entire family together all month. We are also in a lull in the summer activities we did have on the calendar as softball and baseball have ended but soccer and fencing have not yet begun. We are still doing a few classes/sports, but overall our calendar for the month of July has very little writing on it.
