turning eight
Kate turned eight!
The MUCH anticipated date was well celebrated!
It was a friend year for Kate's birthday (we alternate between a family celebration/trip one year and a friend party the next) and she really wanted to invite some of her friends for an afternoon at Grant's Farm. After, we came back to our house for snow cones and playtime.
We had arranged for Kate's best friend to get to stay a bit later than the time when all of the other girls were picked up. Much to Kate and Kendall's surprise, Kendall's mom and I planned a last minute sleepover for the girls that night. These two have been waiting FOREVER for the chance to have a sleepover together. (This was Kate's first non-cousin sleepover.) When I told them, they jumped up and down and squealed. So cute. We took the girls out to dinner at the restaurant of their choice and then made a stop at Carters for matching pajamas. They spent the evening playing with slime, giggling, and doing popcorn and a movie. Both girls crashed by 9:30. :)
Kate has been asking forever to get her ears pierced. I must have said something a while back about eight years old being a good age for it because as her birthday approached, she kept excitedly talking about being old enough to do it now. ;) Sweet Gram came to St. Louis for a visit and planned a special outing one day afterschool to get it done. Kate has been proudly showing off her pierced ears to everyone for the past two weeks.
We so love our eight year old baby girl.
