We spent Monday at Tybee Island in Georgia and it was so very fun. While not as relaxing as some other beaches I've fallen in love with (Dauphin Island, Alabama is #1 in my book and has become for me the beach that all beaches will be compared against....), any day at the beach is a good day.
Despite sunscreen, hats, and calling it quits after four hours of beach time, this pale-skinned crew did not escape our beach time without some painful pink skin. After some cooling off back at our hotel, we opted for mostly indoor activities for the rest of the day. We did some exploring in the car, having fun looking at the distinctively Southern Savannah neighborhoods. We tracked down a favorite pizza stop from our time in Tennessee and had a delicious late lunch/early dinner. We made Gracie a happy teen by doing a bit of shopping at an outlet mall. We ended the day with ice cream at Leopold's, a famous landmark in Savannah.

Isn't this ridiculous? I ordered Kate a strawberry sundae and this is what we were given. She ate maybe 1/5 of it. |
