weekending

Friday night was the Fall Festival at our elementary school. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time. I love our school community. After the festival, we headed to the home of a fifth grade family at the school for an outdoor movie night.

Saturday morning we walked in the St. Jude Walk to End Childhood Cancer. Ben's company is a national sponsor for St. Jude and he has been involved in planning this walk for the past year. Once again, the weather was beautiful and once again, we had a great time. The rest of Saturday was soccer-filled.

After church on Sunday, we were treated to a visit from my dad, who was in town for the weekend for a planning meeting. After a lunch grilled out by Ben, Drew was invited to play at a friend's house while the rest of us worked around the house. The weekend ended with a Scouts cookout for Ben and the boys and some hang out time for the girls. Gracie had two friends over from church and we ordered pizza and made Smores in the backyard. Gracie really has some sweet friends and for that I am so, so thankful. Kate was so happy to be part of the group and the big girls were wonderful about including her.

And, just like that, it is somehow Monday morning again.

Leslie,
It sounds like Drew got to feeling better. I was worried that he might have been coming down with something. From your post, I assume that he was able to keep his scheduled friend visit and attend the scout outing.
I always enjoy the very enthusiastic welcome when I visit. Between the kids and Bear, It seems like it takes 10 minutes to get to your hug :)
Even short visits are a lot of fun.
See you soon,
Love
Dad
