One of the ways that Ben loves us is by making a big, yummy meal for us on Sundays with enough leftover for easy lunches for me throughout the week. Usually, if the weather is right, this big, yummy meal is a pot of soup. Yesterday he made us Luke's favorite, chicken noodle soup. Ben makes an excellent chicken noodle soup full of celery and carrots and rotisserie chicken and fat egg noodles. We all love it, except Katie. Katie will not eat it for some crazy reason.

Today Katie spent a few hours at her friend's house. As I was dropping her off this morning, Megan, the mother, told me that the girls would be having Campbell's chicken noodle soup for lunch. I thanked her, for the dozenth time, for inviting Katie over for the day and left wondering if Katie would be a hungry girl when I picked her up.

On the drive home from Kendall's house just now, Katie told me that Miss Megan makes the yummiest chicken noodle soup ever- better than Daddy's! She suggested that Ben follow the recipe on the can like Miss Megan does. :)

I love it.

Four year old logic is wonderful. It made me think of Rick when he was about the same age. The two of us were at Mom's, Mother's mother, for the afternoon and she fixed us lunch. Rick had a number of food peculiarities, including his refusal to drink any milk other than Meadow Gold brand. Mom had a new carton of Dean's. Rick refused to drink it. Fortunately, she was able to retrieve an empty Meadow Gold carton from the trash. She poured milk into it, brought it to the table, and he happily drank it. He also refused to eat broken cookies or graham crackers. Sandi
