Kate & Kendall

Kate has made a best friend this year named Kendall (or, as pronounced by Kate, "Candle"). The two little girls get along wonderfully. Their preschool teachers say they are never far from one another. Never have I witnessed a disagreement between the two of them. They look out for one another, hug often, and laugh- a lot.

Kendall's mom, Meghan, has become a friend of mine over the year as well. She also works at the preschool and we have a lot in common. Meghan and I have been getting the girls together to play over the summer and stealing the chance for some mom talk too. It's nice for all.

Yesterday Meghan invited us over to hang out a bit. Kendall wanted the girls to have a tea party and had planned all of the details. As soon as we arrived, the girls were off to get their dresses on. Next came lemonade and special cookies. They were all giggles.

I am thankful for this friendship. I sound like a broken record when I say this so often, I am sure, but I just don't take having sweet friends for granted. Maybe because we've moved so many times, but I still feel such gratitude when I am given a new friend and even more gratitude when I see my kids forming friendships with nice people.
