This afternoon we ventured out for one last trip to McKay Books before the move. Man, do I love that place! We spent a happy ninety minutes or so browsing the books and left with a bag of treasures for $3.75 because I had traded in some books not heading to St. Louis with us. Gracie wanted to try the Sweet Vally Twin series after I told her how much I liked it when I was little. Luke was happy to leave with some new Magic Tree House books. Drew found three Berenstain Bears books we don't yet have. Katie got board books. I picked out an audio book for the kids for our long car ride next week as well as a couple of easy fiction books for myself.

And, because most trips to McKay's end this way, we stopped at Sonic on our way home for a Happy Hour treat. The kids love to get slushes and I love my fountain Coke.

All in all, a well-spent seven dollars for an afternoon of fun, a bag of books, a cool summertime treat, and a nice distraction from house stuff.

Happy Friday afternoon! Ben is on his way home from his last day of work at this DSO!
