I've written before on here about my fears when it comes to blogging. I love sharing parts of our life with the friends and family members that we do not see as often as we'd like, but I kind of hate sharing it with any old person who might stumble upon us. It gives me the creeps, actually, to think of strangers knowing so much about us- specifically about the kids.
Most of the time I just don't think about it, but every now and then I am reminded. Two times this past week I became aware of someone reaching our blog through a search engine. The first was a coworker of Ben's who reached our Project 365 while searching for our address on google. I didn't mind him seeing it, of course, but was annoyed because the security settings on both blogs were supposed to have been set to secure- meaning someone should not be able to find us through a search engine.
The second was slightly more surprising to me. The lady who bought our Santa Fe came on Tuesday to complete the paperwork with us. I greeted her at the door with Katie in my arms and she said, "This is the baby girl I was reading about on the computer, huh?" She said she had googled "Ben" and "Knoxville" and found our blog. I was a bit confused since I had just double checked our security settings the day before. After she left, I immediately got online to see how it had happened. Interestingly, "Ben Hedenberg" and "Knoxville" pulled up Erin's blog as a choice since Erin had written about her recent visit to see us. By visiting Erin's blog, the stranger must have then linked to our blog.
Both times the people were harmless (as most people are, I know) but it still makes me want to ask a favor of those of you who blog who may link to our blog through yours- would you mind terribly not linking your blog to ours unless your security settings are set to not allow search engines to pull up your blog?
Thanks so much.

Shannon, I definitely don't mind if you link up to ours if your security settings are set. I like keeping in touch with all of the St. Louis relatives through blogging!
If anyone on my bloglist would rather not be linked to, just let me know and I will delete the link right away.
