{twelve on the 12th}

A second post in one day- can you tell I am confined to the living room with two little boys? Thank goodness for laptops and library books! It has been a long day!

A couple of months ago, I started a "Twelve on the 12th"  list- a collection of random things on my mind that individually are not very blog worthy. They are probably not too blog worthy even as a collection, but I'm tired and bored. Feel free to skip the rest of this post. ;) With so much extra time on my hands today, I thought I'd make one for April too, a day late.

As always, feel free to leave one of your own...just start typing without giving it too much thought. I'd love to read it!

So here goes-

12 on the 12th, April edition

1. Like many others, I was fascinated by the show "Extreme Couponing" I saw on TLC last week. Facebook is all abuzz about it. If you missed it, the show profiles (crazy) women who devote hours and hours of their lives to using coupons to get items at free or insanely low prices. These women have stockpiles of food and household products that just keep growing with every trip to the grocery store. They spend a fraction of what their total should be, spending $50 on $1000 worth of groceries. It is fascinating.

Not that I want to go to their extremes, but the show did remind me that a little prep work/ coupon clipping can make a big difference in my total grocery bill. So, in the spirit of "Extreme Couponing," I'd like to share that I got five boxes of Cheerios (a staple at our house) for a grand total of $4.34 by combining a store special with some clipped coupons. And each box contained a Matchbox car! Drew and I were both happy with that deal! TLC might come knocking on my door next....

2. I have the hugest urge to travel right now. I want to pack a suitcase and go away somewhere tropical for a couple of days. I want to sleep for hours on end, drink pina coladas, read fluffy fiction books from my towel on the white sand, and just generally have a break from everything for just 48 hours or so.

3. While I'm dreaming, I'd love to have a huge Monicals salad with their yummy creamy Italian dressing for dinner tonight. Sadly, I'm a good six hours outside of their delivery area.

4. My friends Kelly & Mark are bringing their twin baby girls home from the hospital today after a 3+ week stay in the NICU. I can't get them off of my mind! I am so happy for their sweet little family!

5. I hit the 34 week mark of my pregnancy today. At this point I am still very content to savor this time and not rush through these last weeks. I know this is my last pregnancy and realize that life is changing ALOT when she arrives. People keep commenting, "She'll be here before you know it!" and I couldn't agree more.

6. As of right now, the game plan is to be induced at 39 weeks.....which is May 18....which is one calendar month from next Monday. Oh. my. goodness.

7. While her name is not completely decided, this baby has become "baby Katie" around here. Drew says hello to baby Katie at least a dozen times a day, and everyone refers to the nursery as Katie's room. Kate will be either her first or middle name and her nickname.

Maybe Catherine Claire? Lucy Kate? Lilly Kate? Isabel Kate? Catherine Isabel? Catherine Hannah? Her name is somewhere in there, I think, but Ben and I aren't stressing about it. We both feel that we'll make a decision soon.

8. I went to the dentist yesterday for the first time in an embarrassingly long time. Apparently I grind my teeth and have worn quite a few smooth spots around my mouth. I had no idea I did this.

9. We have really fun plans this weekend to meet Patti and Bridget in Nashville and I can't wait. I am choosing to be optimistic that the sickness in the house will be long gone before we leave on Saturday morning.

10. I found it very brave of Ben to take the boys with him yesterday to go get our taxes finished. Gracie and I were at Brownies. Ben really wanted to get the taxes done and decided to take Drew and Luke with him. When they got home, his only comment was, "Do you know what is not fun? Taking two little boys to H&R Block."  It was pretty amusing to me, not so much to Ben.

11. Gracie has begun multiplication this week at school and she thinks she is pretty hot stuff. I love that girl.

12. It is now hours after I began this list. Somewhere around #7 I got sidetracked with a marathon reading session and Luke's request for "Go Fish."
