{to make you feel my love}
Ben and I were watching a movie a couple of weeks ago- I can't think of which movie it was at the moment, but am positive the second that I publish this post, the name will come to me- and we were thrilled to hear a great new (or new to us) version of our wedding song, "To Make You Feel My Love."
I still, eleven years later, love this song more than I can say. I love the lyrics, but more so, I love the memories of a wonderful day that come rushing back after hearing just seconds of the song. Ben and I on the dance floor, surrounded by all of our family and friends, being serenaded by our friend Tony on his guitar. I remember that for the weeks leading up to the wedding Ben and I were nervous about the first dance, about so many people watching us. During the reception, though, we were just so happy and full of love for each other and all of the wonderful people sharing the day with us that we forgot to be nervous. I remember as the song ended, Ben and I shared one of the best kisses I've ever experienced. I hear this song and can't believe that eleven years have passed.
If you're searching for new music and in the mood for a sweet, romantic song, you might try "Make You Feel My Love" by Adele.
On a related side note, does anyone else remember the first dances of weddings that you've been to? Almost always, once I watch a couple dance to a song at their wedding, that song becomes theirs in my mind. When I hear the song later- even year later- I immediately think of that couple. Do you do this too?
Happy Friday, everyone!
