{dreaded phone call}

10:16 A.M.
telephone rings

me: Hello? (as if I do not already know this is the phone call I was hoping not to get based on the caller ID)

director: Leslie?  This is _________ from ____________MDO.

me: Hi. How is he doing?

director: Well....... (long pause)...... we just can't seem to get him to calm down.  We've tried reading him the book you sent in his backpack and we got out the cars and trucks like you suggested, but........he refused to eat snack and he won't stop crying for his mama. We might have put him through enough for one day.

me: I'll be right there.

My poor guy cried himself hoarse for an hour and ten minutes. When I got there he was bright red and splotchy. He ran to me like he hadn't seen me in a year. Pitiful, I tell ya.  Just pitiful.

Sigh.

We'll try again next week.

Woops, I don't know why it left my comment 3 times on your last post. Apparently, though, triple-good vibes did not help today. Sorry Drew is having such a rough time being away from you. Hope everything gets better as he becomes more comfortable with MDO!

Ugh. blogger does not like me today. Sorry for the continual comments!
It will get better, all three of the boys had their moments and look at them now...not one of them cries when I leave :-)
Seriously, whoever said "this too shall pass" must have been the mother of a toddler. Hang in there!

I'm sorry about your day...I know it will get better though. I can say that with utmost confidence. Do you remember signing up for all these heart wrenching irritating "glitches" when you birthed??
I sure don't!! :)

Allie,

Go back and read your "Mommy" contract. Article 3, section 4.6 sub-section D, paragraph 2...and I quote "Mommy will fix all things bad".

P.S. There is also a " no expiration date" clause :)

Does the father clause end at the time of marriage?
