Does anyone enjoy the game of real estate? The negotiations over price, the negotiations over repairs from the inspection, the stress, the paperwork, the fact that you start spending so much money that another $375 check feels like nothing......it's no fun if you ask me.
I'm LOVING the fact that this time next week I'll be lounging in the white sand of Cancun with a margarita in my hand.
When Ben found out that he won this trip, I have to admit that I wasn't as excited as I should have been. We found out about a month ago in the midst of all of the relocation chaos. I love to travel as much as the next gal, but life is a bit crazy right now and this trip- however wonderful- felt like one more thing to put on my already full plate. Also, I just left the kids a couple of weeks ago for the house-hunting trip and am not looking forward to leaving them again so soon.
But now I'm getting a little more excited. The kids can't wait to boot us out the door and get Gram and Grandpa to themselves for a bit, and my parents say they are excited as well (though, Mom, I hope Drew gives you a bit more personal space this trip! ) Ben has been crazy busy at work and it will be so nice to have some time to relax with him. And we really are in the limbo stage of the relocation. Things are wrapping up with the sale of this house and also the purchase of the new house. We are set to close on both on March 17. Everything will be fine while we are away and we'll have a great time.
Edited to add- I hope I do not in any way sound as if I am complaining about a free trip to Mexico; I promise I am not! The point of the post was only to share how much my once-hesitant attitude about going has changed as the stress of the relocation has gotten more intense. Bring on the margaritas! ;)
