Ben is watching the Illinois game, the kids are long asleep, and I am ready to chill out on the couch for a while.
We have been cleaning/painting/decluttering/rearranging like crazy people for the past five days or so. A photographer came to the house today and spent an hour taking pictures for the virtual tour on the listing. Since everything had to be perfect for her visit this afternoon (there's no better motivation to clean than the thought of complete strangers looking at your house!), the house looks great, momentarily at least.
Keeping it looking great....now that will be a different story. I'm pretty sure that three young kids and house-clean-enough-to-show-at-the-drop-of-a-hat won't be a good combination. And I'm absolutely sure that three young kids, house-clean-enough-to-show-at-the-drop-of-a-hat, and a husband splitting his time between states will be a pretty shitty combination.
February might be an interesting month. :)
Other random things to share-
*Congratulations to my friends June and Kevin on their beautiful new baby!
*I'm having a hard time looking at houses online for Knoxville. I thought the house hunt would be really, really exciting, but it turns out that so far it's not. Go figure.
* Drew is convinced he is one of the big kids. He won't eat in his booster seat anymore if the tray is on. He throws a massive tantrum until I remove the tray and place his food on a plate on the table with everyone else, then he eats quite happily.
* Ben just found out that he won a trip to Cancun for his performance at work in 2009. We'll head to Mexico for three days at the beginning of March. I can't tell you how excited we both are!
* Ten more days until we head to Decatur for a weekend. It feels like a long time since we've been there, though it's only been since New Year's Day. I can't wait to go, mostly to get to meet my cousin's beautiful twin girls. Lisa, put me on your calendar for the 13th- I want lots of baby time! :)
* I went to book club last night and had a great time just talking with all of the women. Book club will be one of the things I'll really miss when we move.
* There are lots of thoughts and conversations to be had at our house right now that begin with, "when we move...."
The Illini game is over, so Ben might actually talk to me now. :) Happy Wednesday!
