It's not been the smoothest day around here today.
Drew is fighting a double ear infection again- the fourth in five months- and it has caused us both to be tired and a little cranky. He doesn't want to eat. He doesn't want to play. He definitely does not want to sleep- unless he is in my arms. Poor baby.
The kids had dentist appointments this morning. I probably can't properly describe just how fun it was to be at the dentist's office for seventy minutes with four children. At one point both Ella and Drew were crying. Two different people commented "Wow, you really have your hands full today, don't you?" Fun. And then we got to take Gracie to school and head to the pediatrician's office for Drew's ears. At least the second appointment began on time and did not involve tears.
It is violin lesson day and Luke has been throwing an absolute fit about it. He is really not enjoying his lessons and asks me often if he can please just be done taking them. It makes me wonder just why we pay such a crazy amount of money each week for a lesson.
Ben leaves again tomorrow for more work travel. I thought I had gotten pretty used to him being away for work, but this has been a little much. Waaayyy too much travel in the past five weeks.
So I'm just grouchy, but trying to take a breather and put a fresh start on the second half of my day. The house is currently quiet with two sleeping babies, one child at school, and one child playing Legos. Dinner is already made and waiting in the fridge. I just made a mug of apple cider for myself and just might have time to curl up on the couch for just a bit and finish my book before book club tonight. A few pieces of Halloween candy just might help too...
