Not too much to report at casa de Hedenberg.

Quick updates on us:

Gracie has two weeks of school under her belt and has adjusted beautifully to first grade. She seems to really like her teacher and classmates and is excited to go to school each day. She is so tired when she gets home each afternoon!

I get really amused by some of the things she tells me about first grade. She was excited the other day because the class had independent reading for seven minutes and fifty seconds! I attended Curriculum Night on Wednesday and enjoyed hearing about first grade academics. Her grade level is piloting a math program that my school adopted right before I left and I felt excited to hear about that. I had many questions about the reading program, but we were in a group setting and after my first two questions were answered in really generic terms, I decided I didn't want to be that mom and kept the rest of my questions to myself. Until parent teacher conferences. :)

Luke and I are really having a good time having "Mommy-Luke time" each day. I couldn't count the hours I've spent playing pirate with him this week! Ben and I keep commenting to one another how much he seems to be growing up right before our eyes. His behavior has been outstanding over the last couple of weeks. He has been really excited about helping around the house and helping with Drew. He's such a neat little guy.

Drew is full of new tricks and keeps us smiling. My current favorite is his repetition of "uh uh...uh uh......uh uh" everytime anything drops. He seems so aware of everything around him right now! He loves dogs and shakes with excitement if he sees one in the neighborhood. He loves to point out eyes on people, stuffed animals, and characters in books. He really enjoys fingerplays and will sign for more if I stop before he is ready. He's been battling a cold this week and has been a bit less independent than usual, so he has spent lots of time in my arms. He's definitely feeling better now and has been full of smiles today.

Ben is wrapping up a pretty good month at work. He has begun a bathroom makeover in the downstairs bathroom and I am, in fact, listening to the tile saw in the garage as I type. I'm feeling really productive these days too and have started lots of fun little projects that will keep me busy over the next few weeks. I'm also still really enjoying sewing and have continued to play around digitally with photos.

We had a wonderful day today hanging out together at Keystone Mall. Ben shopped for clothes, the kids played at Pottery Barn Kids, we looked at things for Drew's birthday, we went out to lunch at Cheesecake Factory, and I shopped for a new dress for two upcoming weddings...a busy and fun few hours. The kids were all in great moods, making the day that much more fun.

I hope you are all having a great weekend as well!
