a perfect Saturday...

Like most people, Saturday is by far my favorite day of the week.

I love having Ben at home with us. I love that we either have fun plans with friends and family or that we get to have the day together as a family. I love that there is rarely somewhere that we have to be, so we are able to do whatever we please.

Our Saturday so far has been pretty darn perfect for us, expecially considering that we had no plans as of 9:00 this morning. We woke up and played for a bit, then went treasure hunting at a few garage sales. Gracie and Luke love this as much as I do. I give them a couple of dollars at the beginning of the morning and they can shop until their money is gone. Today their money bought them two books, a video, a pair of rain boots, a My Little Pony, and knight Little People.

Twice yearly our library has a used book sale and we try to make it a point to go. After treasure hunting, we headed to the library. $4 and thirty minutes of searching later, we walked out with a small stack of books and videos to add to our home library.

Next, it was Gracie's turn to choose our restaurant for lunch and she chose Chilli's. It was a completely smooth restaurant experience with everyone in a great mood- not always the case with three kids! Drew sat up in the highchair and ate applesauce as we ate our meal- he is getting so big! The kids were amused playing with the camera and posing as we waited for the food to arrive.

After lunch, we went to Eagle Creek State Park to enjoy the perfect weather we are having today. It was just so pretty there and we all had a wonderful time! The kids found walking sticks to use and wanted to study everything. The highlight was definitely wading in the creek, though seeing two deer and a centipede was also pretty cool.

Gracie and Luke are currently resting on the couch with one of their new movies while Ben and I get a few things done. As I type, Drew is up on all fours at my feet; he will be crawling in the next couple of days! I love it!
I hope you are having as nice of a Saturday!

I can't believe how much Luke looks like Brian Kennedy! Looks like a perfect day to me (other than the garage sales :-)
