Ben enjoyed a Guys' Weekend in Kentucky while the kids and I spent a nice weekend at home. Lots of Go Fish was played in the Hedenberg house this weekend! :)
On Saturday the kids went with me to shop for Mother's Day gifts for Patti and my mom. Their choices just made me smile! We walked through the stores at their pace and they wanted to look at everything! They really wanted to get my mom a bright blue dresser they found at Homegoods- and it was a bargain price of $399.99! Sorry, Mom, I talked them out of it and there will not be a blue dresser coming your way. :)
We treated ourselves to cheeseburgers and french fries at Red Robin on Saturday. The Kentucky Derby coverage was on a TV near our booth. Gracie and Luke thought it was pretty neat that they could see where their Daddy was, but wanted to know why they couldn't see him among the hundreds of people on the screen. Ben and I laughed about it later, but I do distinctly remember watching Cardinals games on TV when I was little trying to see people I knew in the crowd.
It should be a fun and busy week around here- a field trip to the dairy farm, dress rehearsal for Gracie's ballet recital next Sunday, a new book study at church, and a playdate for Luke on top of all of our normal activities. I look at the calendar for May and can't believe that summer is just around the corner!
